DAY 1: Delhi Arrival
Taj Mahal Tour Guide’s representative will receive you at the Delhi airport and facilitate your stay at a pre-booked 5-star hotel in Delhi through an air-conditioned vehicle. Check in at the hotel and utilize the remaining time for leisure activities near your stay or relaxing. There are many hotels to choose from in New Delhi. Being the national capital of India, it has a decent presence of hospitality providers. Le Meridian is a favorite amongst luxury travelers; others like Roseate House, The Lalit, Imperial, Oberoi, ITC Maurya, Taj Palace, etc. are frequented too. Your choice at one of the above hotels or others, apart from these, will help our travel consultants at Taj Mahal Tour Guide book these for you and make all arrangements prior to your arrival for the 5-night, 6-day Golden Triangle Tour Package of India.
Day 02: Delhi Sightseeing
Our English-speaking travel escort will take you on a combined tour of the old and new parts of Delhi on the first day of the 5-night, 6-day Golden Triangle tour of India. We start off with a visit to the Red Fort, the last stronghold and the final headquarters of the Mughal rule in India, followed by important monuments from the erstwhile English rule that serve as important offices in the modern-day Indian governmental structure, like the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, Secretariat Building, Lal Qilla, and India Gate, which is a war memorial built to commemorate the fallen Indian soldiers from the first world war. Later in the first leg of the golden triangle tour, we visit the Raj Ghat (resembling peace and the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi) and Shanti Van (the cremation site of Jawahar Lal Nehru, India’s first prime minister). Old Delhi, also known as the walled city of Shahjahanabad, has gems like the Chandni Chowk (Moonlit Square) for souvenirs and snacking, Khari bowri and Sadar bazar for dry fruits and spice shopping, Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj, a holy place for Sikhs, Swami Narayan temple, a holy place for Hindus, and the Jama Masjid, which also serves as a landmark of the Old Delhi, situated opposite to the Red Fort in the Old Delhi area. After a day of sight-seeing, you retire for the night after dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Delhi - Agra
We begin the second day of the golden triangle tour with breakfast at the hotel, after which we start off for Agra, situated approximately 240 km from Delhi. On arrival, check-in at a pre-booked hotel. Just like New Delhi, Agra is no less when it comes to satiating the luxury lifestyle and hunger for hospitality of a seasoned traveller. The glamour and grandeur of the erstwhile Mughal capital city are best reflected in the hotels; starting with the ITC Mughal, Man Singh Hotel, Radisson Blue, Courtyard by Marriot, Trident Agra, Jaypee Palace Hotel, and the legendary Oberoi Amar Vilas, the city has every reason to boast high on its luxury quotient. In leg two of the 5-night, 6-day Golden Triangle Tour of India, we start off by visiting the Red Fort of Agra, which served as the headquarters of the Mughal Empire for four generations. Our guide will tell you all about the history, stories, architecture, and view points that capture the best of your travel moments and events, as well as the traditions, art forms, and practices that have been carried forward since then. At the Mussaman Burj tower inside the fort, where Shah Jahan spent the last days of his life, the view of the Taj Mahal lying on the same side of the River Yamuna is beautiful. We now move to another historical monument, the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah (also known as the Baby Taj), which inspired the structure of the Taj Mahal in many aspects. From the square symmetry, to the garden on all sides, to the large gates with artistic renderings at the entrance, and to the vicinity of the river Yamuna, all add to the core inspiration behind the building of the Taj Mahal. The evening of this day’s golden triangle tour of India can either be spent gazing at the Taj Mahal from the Mehtab Bagh (Moonlit Gardens) or from the other end of the Taj Mahal, across the river Yamuna. One of the specialties we have for our travelers, who give us the chance to serve them during any of the Golden Triangle Tours, are the visits to the in-laid marble workshops and showrooms (pachekari, as it is known in the local dialect), where they can witness how the building blocks of the Taj Mahal are refined, embedded with precious and semi-precious stones, and given final touches. With beautiful designs on display, it is one of the best things to be on anyone’s itinerary when traveling to Agra. Another good place to shop for ethnic Indian stuff is the Zardozi workshop and showrooms in Agra; Kinari Bazar, Subhash Bazar, Sadar Bazar, Raja ki Mandi, etc. are other places to explore for authentic Indian stuff. Please note that the Taj Mahal remains closed every Friday.
Day 4: Agra Sightseeing—Jaipur
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel to the world-renowned monument of love, the Taj Mahal. Built by Mughal ruler Shahjahan in 1630, it contains the mortal remains of Mumtaz Mahal and Shahjahan himself. The most cliched yet most beautiful and enchanting stop of the 5-nights, 6-days Golden Triangle Tour of India, from Rajvansh Holidays, is bound to leave you mesmerized. When the early saffron rays of the sun hit the white, heavenly marble of the monument, the magical aura of the moment will suck you in for a blissful and memorable ride of a lifetime. The tour guide will let you know the facts, history, stories, events, structure, Instagram-happy spots, and everything else that makes the Taj Mahal experience a happy one for you. While leaving for Jaipur, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, a city that was made the capital of the Mughal Empire by Emperor Akbar for a short period of time but had to be abandoned due to a lack of water. Jama Masjid, the tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal, and Jodha Bai’s palace are other structures to explore. The last leg of the 5-nights, 6-days Golden Triangle Tour takes us to the regal city of Jovial Jaipur, the present-day capital of the state of Rajasthan. The night would be spent at a pre-booked hotel in Jaipur. The regal city is often rated very highly in all aspects by the hotel industry. Landmarks like the Ram Bagh Palace, the Umaid Mahal, the Jaipur Greens, the ITC Rajputana, the Oberoi Raj Vilas, the Jaipur Marriot Hotel, the Jal Mahal Palace, and the Hotel Clarks Amber are all-time favorites of travelers.
Day 5: Jaipur
After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, we proceed for the sightseeing tour of Jaipur City and visit Maharaja's City Palace and the observatory. Visit Amber Fort, which was the capital of the state till 1728. Visit Jagmandir, or the Hall of Victory that glitters with thousands of mirrors, Jal Mahal, and the Temples of Kali. Enjoy an elephant or jeep ride on your ascent to Amber Fort and capture incredible panoramic views of the city. Visit Hawa Mahal and local markets and temples in Jaipur. After discovering the different hues of Jaipur, return to your hotel and spend the night
